Iowa Talking Points — Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Republican Candidate, U.S. House (IA-01)
Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Jeff Stein at Iowa Talking Points Studio
Mariannette Miller-Meeks is the incumbent U.S. Representative for Iowa's 1st Congressional District, first elected in 2020 and now seeking another term. A physician, Army veteran, and former Iowa state senator, Miller-Meeks previously served as Director of the Iowa Department of Public Health and has built her congressional career around health care policy, fiscal responsibility, and constituent service across southeast Iowa. She faces a primary challenge from David Pautsch as she runs for reelection in a district that remains one of the most competitive in the country.
On the show, Miller-Meeks discussed her record in Congress, including her support for reducing the cost of living for Iowa families and her vote for what Republicans have branded the "One, Big Beautiful Bill." She talked about her continued push for health care reform, including reining in pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) and expanding access to association health plans, and made her case for why voters should send her back to Washington for another term. Mariannette Miller-Meeks joined Jeff Stein at Iowa Talking Points Studio to discuss her record and make her case for reelection.
