Iowa Talking Points — Lindsay James, Democratic Candidate, Iowa's 2nd Congressional District

Lindsay James is the Democratic nominee for Iowa's 2nd Congressional District, challenging Republican Joe Mitchell in an open seat race. A Presbyterian pastor serving her fourth term in the Iowa House of Representatives representing Dubuque, James has made affordability the centerpiece of her campaign — focusing on the economic pressures facing Iowa families under current Washington policies. She was added to the DCCC's Red to Blue program in July 2026. The race has attracted national attention as one of Iowa's most competitive congressional contests. James joined Jeff Stein at Iowa Talking Points Studio to discuss her campaign, her faith-driven commitment to public service, and her vision for northeast Iowa in Congress.
